Pennsauken Tech takes loss despite strong efforts from Xavier Melendez and Omari Spencer

Recap: Pennsauken Tech vs. Clayton Clippers

Pennsauken Tech pushed their score all the way to 76 on Thursday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They were the victim of a tough 96-76 loss at the hands of Clayton. Pennsauken Tech was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Clayton apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January.

Omari Spencer and Xavier Melendez certainly did their best on Thursday to try and avoid the loss. Spencer scored 32 points along with eight rebounds, while Melendez scored 15 points along with three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Jahseem Branch , who dropped a double-double on ten points and 11 rebounds.

Pennsauken Tech's defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 0-1. As for Clayton, their victory bumped their record up to 1-0.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Pennsauken Tech won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Camden County Vo-Tech at 5:15 p.m. on December 15th. Clayton won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Pennsville Memorial at 5:30 p.m. on December 15th.
