San Marino will be up against a hot La Canada squad: the team just extended their winning streak to three. The Spartans put the hurt on Temple City with a sharp 12-1 win on Tuesday. The Spartans might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven contests by seven runs or more this season.

Bentley Lebrecque was a major factor no matter where she played. She struck out eight batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. That's the most runs she has posted since back in March.
In other batting news, La Canada got a big performance out of Laila Kazazian, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI and two doubles. Those two doubles gave Kazazian a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Ava Perry, who went 3-for-4 with two RBI and one double.
La Canada always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .567. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Temple City only posted an OBP of .118.
Meanwhile, San Marino suffered their closest loss since March 4th on Tuesday. They fell just short of South Pasadena by a score of 7-5. The defeat continues a trend for the Titans in their meetings with the Tigers: they've now lost eight in a row.
Kayla Giddings was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. Lily Mata was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI.
La Canada pushed their record up to 12-6-1 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.3 runs over those games. As for San Marino, their loss dropped their record down to 3-13.
Friday's matchup will be a test for both teams' pitchers. La Canada hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .345. However, it's not like San Marino struggles in that department as they've averaged .331. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
