Football Recap: Chariho Chargers vs. Mt. Hope Huskies
Chariho had lost three straight at home, but on Thursday they dropped down to 2-4 to make it four. They took a 21-8 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Mt. Hope Huskies. If the Chargers were looking for revenge after losing 33-7 to the Huskies when the teams met back in October of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.
As for Mt. Hope, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 3-2. Those wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 9.3 points on average over those games.
Robert Annis produced another solid effort rushing for 126 yards and two touchdowns on only 14 carries. He also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D, making eight total tackles and defending one pass.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Chariho will venture away from home to take on North Providence at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Mt. Hope, they will head out to square off against Mt. Pleasant at 6:30 p.m. on the 17th.
