Central put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their perfect season alive. They blew past the Flomaton Hurricanes 11-3. Considering the Jaguars have won five matchups by more than six runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Brock Schmidt made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out seven over five innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two hits in five consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 3-for-5.

In other batting news, Carson Baxley and Bryce Bowers did most of the damage at the plate: Baxley scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3, while Bowers scored two runs while going 3-for-4. Those three hits gave Bowers a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Brock Reeves, who scored three runs while going 2-for-4.

Central hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their strikeout total in three consecutive contests.

Central's victory was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 7-0. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.2 runs on average over those games. As for Flomaton, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-5.

Central didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 4-3 defeat against Aletheia Christian Academy on the 7th. As for Flomaton, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 7-5 loss against Blacksher on the 8th.
