After a string of five wins, Western's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They came up short against the Calvary Christian Academy Eagles, falling 3-0. The Wildcats were not able to make up for their defeat to the Eagles from their previous meeting back in September of 2023.

Western was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the second set very close. The final score came out to 25-19, 25-23, 25-19.

Paige Hill paced Western's offense, picking up five kills. Hill got some help from Avery Williamson and her five assists. Hill was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

Calvary Christian Academy can attribute much of their success to Sofia Linares, who had 11 digs and one assist.

Western now has a losing record of 10-11. As for Calvary Christian Academy, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 12-11.

Western wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 3-0 victory against Goleman on the 14th. As for Calvary Christian Academy, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-1 win against Cardinal Gibbons on the 13th.
