Basketball Game Preview: Crestview Rebels vs. Champion Golden Flashes

The Crestview Rebels will challenge the Champion Golden Flashes at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. The timing is sure in Crestview's favor as the team sits on 18 straight wins at home (dating back to last season) while Champion has been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road.

Last Monday, Crestview took their contest with ease, bagging a 57-29 victory over Struthers. The Rebels have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six games by 28 points or more this season.

Addison Rhodes was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 33 points and ten steals. That makes it six consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Crestview's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Bri DiCross, who posted four points along with eight assists and six boards.

Crestview smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 19 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive boards in three consecutive matchups.

Meanwhile, Champion had to endure a six-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They snuck past Bristol with a 44-40 win on Thursday.

Crestview has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season. As for Champion, their victory ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-8.

Crestview strolled past Champion in their previous matchup back in January of 2024 by a score of 55-40. Will Crestview repeat their success, or does Champion have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
