Soccer Game Preview: Goochland vs. Albemarle

The Goochland Bulldogs are taking a road trip to face off against the Albemarle Patriots at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Goochland's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for five straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Goochland fell victim to Fluvanna County and their airtight defense on Thursday. They fell just short of the Flying Flucos by a score of 1-0.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Albemarle). They blew past Louisa County 8-0 on Thursday. Considering Albemarle have won four matches by more than two goals this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Albemarle's record is now 5-3-1. As for Goochland, their loss dropped their record down to 1-6.

Goochland came up short against Albemarle in their previous meeting back in May of 2024, falling 3-1. Can the Bulldogs avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
