Doral Academy has gone a perfect 3-0 against Palmetto recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Firebirds will take on the Panthers at 3:30 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Last Thursday, Doral Academy earned a 5-3 victory over Miami Country Day. It was an even better day for Amanda Gonzalez as she scored three goals for her team.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Palmetto). Their defense stepped up to hand North Miami Beach a 12-0 shutout on Wednesday. The team's explosion on offense also rewarded Palmetto with their most commanding win of the season.

Something new happened on Wednesday as Nicole Navarro saw her first action of the season, playing 25 minutes against North Miami Beach. Navarro made the most of the opportunity, putting up one assist A few more games like that and she might be seeing even more time going forward.

The win made it two in a row for Palmetto and bumps their season record up to 3-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 16 goals over those two matches. As for Doral Academy, the win got them back to even at 1-1.

Doral Academy skirted past Palmetto 1-0 when the teams last played back in December of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Firebirds since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
