Softball Recap: Manitowoc Lincoln Comes Up Short

Manitowoc Lincoln was the 7-5 winner over Mukwonago when they last played one another back in April of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Ships fell just short of the Indians by a score of 6-4 on Saturday.

Taylor Peterson was cooking despite her team's loss, firing off two home runs while going 4-for-4. Those home runs were her first of the season.

Manitowoc Lincoln has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-8 record this season. As for Mukwonago, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Manitowoc Lincoln will venture away from home to take on Green Bay Southwest at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Mukwonago, they will challenge Muskego at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Warriors' pitching crew has only allowed 3.9 runs per game this season, so the Indians' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
