Softball Game Preview: Aurora Christian Eagles vs. St. Edward Green Wave

Aurora Christian hasn't had much luck against St. Edward recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Eagles will be playing at home against the Green Wave at 4:30 p.m. Aurora Christian has given up an average of 13.9 runs per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Aurora Christian is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 12 runs on Tuesday, they were much more limited against Marian Central Catholic on Wednesday. They lost 15-1 to the Hurricanes.

Aurora Christian saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Vaila Johnson, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one stolen base and one double.

Meanwhile, St. Edward posted their closest win since April 22nd on Wednesday. They had just enough and edged out Wheaton Academy 2-1. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Green Wave.

Alaina Nolan made a splash while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 17 over seven innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in April. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Aurora Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 5-12. As for St. Edward, they now have a winning record of 11-10.
