Volleyball Recap: Douglas Byrd Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Douglas Byrd was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the E.E. Smith Golden Bulls. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Eagles of the 3-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September of 2024.

Douglas Byrd started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The match finished with set scores of 23-25, 25-15, 25-23, 25-17.

Douglas Byrd's loss dropped their record down to 1-5. As for E.E. Smith, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-4.

Douglas Byrd has already played their next match, a 3-0 defeat against St. Pauls on the 23rd. As for E.E. Smith, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 3-2 win against Westover on the 23rd.
