Basketball Recap: Sylmar Comes Up Short

Sylmar lost against Eagle Rock back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Spartans fell just short of the Eagles by a score of 62-60.

Despite the loss, Sylmar saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Aiden Garcia posted 16 points along with six rebounds and five assists. Another player making a difference was Andrew Galvez, who put up 16 points and six boards.

Sylmar's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Eagle Rock, they pushed their record up to 3-0 with the victory, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season.

Sylmar will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Brentwood School at 6:45 p.m. on December 1. As for Eagle Rock, they will take on North at 3:20 p.m. on Wednesday.
