Baseball Game Preview: Edmonson County Wildcats vs. Butler County Bears

For the second straight game, Edmonson County will face off against Butler County. The Wildcats will head out to face off against the Bears at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.

While Edmonson County's victory against Butler County wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Wildcats had just enough and edged out the Bears 3-1. The Wildcats haven't had any issues with the Bears recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Hunter Wilson made a splash while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 18 over seven innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Edmonson County is 2-0-1 when he allows at most two earned runs, but 3-7 otherwise. Wilson was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-2. That stolen base marked the first that he snagged this season.

Wilson wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Chase Bullock, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2.

Edmonson County's victory bumped their record up to 5-7-1. As for Butler County, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-8.
