Softball Game Preview: Sylvania Rams vs. Collinsville Panthers

The Sylvania Rams are taking a road trip to take on the Collinsville Panthers at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Collinsville took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Sylvania, who comes in off a win.

Sylvania made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Geraldine, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Rams were the clear victors by a 7-1 margin over the Bulldogs on Thursday. The victory was some much needed relief for the Rams as it spelled an end to their seven-game losing streak.

Braelyn Hastings spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on two hits and racked up seven Ks.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Mara Anderson, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-4. That's the most hits she has posted over her last 12 contests. Jaidyn Ashley also deserves some recognition as she got her first hit of the season.

Meanwhile, Collinsville unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Thursday. They fell 7-3 to Ider.

Sylvania's win bumped their record up to 4-11. As for Collinsville, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-9.

Sylvania might still be hurting after the 16-6 loss they got from Collinsville when the teams last played back in March. Can the Rams avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
