Basketball Game Preview: Normal West Wildcats vs. Normal Community Ironmen

The Normal West Wildcats will head out to square off against the Normal Community Ironmen at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Normal West is coming into the match on a three-game losing streak.

Normal West came up short against Peoria Notre Dame on Tuesday, falling 62-42.

Normal Community has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They took a 54-39 bruising from Cardinal Ritter College Prep on Monday. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Ironmen came into the game with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 25th in Illinois, while the Lions are ranked 114th in Missouri).

Normal Community's loss dropped their record down to 24-6. As for Normal West, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-19.

Normal West came up short against Normal Community in their previous matchup back in November of 2024, falling 60-55. Can Normal West avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
