Softball Recap: Desert Ridge Makes It Four in a Row on the Road

Desert Ridge got themselves on the board against Gilbert on Tuesday, but Gilbert never followed suit. They came out on top against the Tigers by a score of 5-0. The win continues a trend for the Jaguars in their matchups with the Tigers: they've now won eight in a row.

The result came thanks to Novi Muffo's shutout, as she gave up just four hits and racked up nine Ks.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Brooklyn Johnson, who scored a run while going 2-for-3. What's more, she posted two RBI, the most she's had since March 1st. Maddie Bryant also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Desert Ridge pushed their record up to 11-4 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.8 runs on average over those games. As for Gilbert, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-7.

Desert Ridge will have a chance to go back-to-back against Gilbert: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday.
