The Doddridge County Bulldogs will square off against the Ritchie County Rebels at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Doddridge County will come into the match with an undefeated record on the line.
On Wednesday, Doddridge County needed a bit of extra time to put away Lincoln. They had just enough and edged out the Cougars 7-6.

Doddridge County let Brooke Dehaven and Olivia See run wild. Dehaven went 3-for-5 with one home run, three RBI, and one stolen base, while See scored three runs while going 4-for-5. Those four hits gave See a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Hadley Ross, who scored a run while going 4-for-5.
Doddridge County was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .444. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .444 or higher every time they've taken the field this season.
Meanwhile, Ritchie County never let their opponents score on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 14-0 margin over South Harrison. The Rebels haven't had any issues with the Hawks recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.
Rocklyn Marcum made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Marcum was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Chelsie Jeffrey, who scored three runs and stole four bases while going 2-for-3. Rindy Perkins was another key player, scoring two runs while going 1-for-3.
Doddridge County's victory was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 4-0. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 6.8 runs this season. As for Ritchie County, their victory bumped their record up to 2-0.
Doddridge County was able to grind out a solid win over Ritchie County when the teams last played back in March of 2024, winning 4-0. Will Doddridge County repeat their success, or does Ritchie County has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
