Soccer Game Preview: Geneva vs. John Paul II

The Geneva Eagles will take on the John Paul II Centurions at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Having struggled with five defeats in a row, Geneva turned things around against Incarnate Word Academy on Monday. They skirted past the Angels 3-2.

Meanwhile, John Paul II kept a clean sheet against Holy Cross on Tuesday. They were the clear victor by a 4-0 margin over the Knights. The result was nothing new for the Centurions, who have now won five games by three goals or more so far this season.

They hit Holy Cross with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Justin Brown (2), Jacob Cantu, and Zeran Martinez.

John Paul II pushed their record up to 6-4 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 17 goals over those three contests. As for Geneva, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-5.
