Preview: Westwood Christian Warriors vs. Booker T. Washington Tornadoes
The Westwood Christian Warriors on the road again on Monday and play against the Booker T. Washington Tornadoes at 11:30 a.m. on January 15th. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.
Westwood Christian suffered their biggest loss yet this season on Saturday. They had to suffer through a rough 88-54 loss at the hands of Dwyer. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Westwood Christian has scored all season.
Despite the loss, Westwood Christian got a solid performance out of Ethan Taylor, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 20 rebounds. Taylor is absolutely dominating the rebound category: he's posted at least eight every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of William Nadaskay, who scored 11 points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Meanwhile, after soaring to 64 points the game before, Booker T. Washington were a bit more limited in their contest on Saturday. They were beaten by Miami 65-25. While losing is never fun, Booker T. Washington can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 410th, while Miami is ranked 70th).
Westwood Christian's loss dropped their record down to 9-4. As for Booker T. Washington, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-9 record this season.
Westwood Christian came up short against Booker T. Washington when the teams last played back in November of 2016, falling 45-40. Can Westwood Christian avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
