Soccer Game Preview: Deer Creek vs. Edmond Memorial

The Deer Creek Antlers will head out to challenge the Edmond Memorial Bulldogs at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday.

Deer Creek is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Oklahoma's top teams: Northwest Classen, who was ranked 17th at the time (Deer Creek was ranked 18th). The Antlers fell just short of the Knights by a score of 2-1 on Tuesday. Deer Creek's loss signaled the end of their six-game winning streak.

Meanwhile, Edmond Memorial entered their tilt with Moore on Tuesday with seven consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with eight. They blew past the Lions 3-0. Edmond Memorial might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six contests by three goals or more this season.

Edmond Memorial pushed their record up to 10-2-4 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored eight goals over those three matches. As for Deer Creek, their defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 7-4-1.

Deer Creek was able to grind out a solid victory over Edmond Memorial in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, winning 4-2. Do the Antlers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Bulldogs turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
