Soccer Recap: American Fork Takes Down Copper Hills in a Playoff Battle

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but American Fork had no problem doing just that on Tuesday. While the 2-2 score might suggest a draw, it was the Cavemen who were credited with the win. The American Fork Cavemen got it done in the shootout by posting five goals to the Copper Hills Grizzlies's four. This was payback for American Fork, who suffered a 3-1 loss the last time these two teams met.

Lewis Knecht was the driving force of American Fork's attack as he scored both of American Fork's goals, bringing his season total up to 23 goals.

American Fork's victory bumped their record up to 11-4. As for Copper Hills, they have been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last 12 matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-11 record this season.

American Fork has already played their next game, a 3-2 win against Pleasant Grove on the 15th. Copper Hills does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
