Basketball Recap: Anderson County's Winning Streak Snapped at Four Games

After flying high against Prairie View last Tuesday, Anderson County came back down to earth. The match between the Anderson County Bulldogs and the Santa Fe Trail Chargers didn't end well, with the Anderson County Bulldogs falling 65-48. The contest marked the Bulldogs' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

When it comes to explaining why Anderson County lost on Friday, don't look at Noah Porter. Despite the final result, he went 10 of 17 en route to 25 points and eight rebounds. Porter's afternoon made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Brayden Wheat, who posted eight points.

Even though they lost, Anderson County smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive boards in four consecutive matches.

The defeat snapped Anderson County's winning streak at four games and leaves them with a 5-2 record. As for Santa Fe Trail, they pushed their record up to 7-1 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season.

Anderson County will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Humboldt at 7:00 p.m. on January 28th. Anderson County is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 62.1 points per game this season. Santa Fe Trail has already played their next contest (against St. Mary's Academy), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
