Softball Game Preview: Moorestown Quakers vs. Seneca Golden Eagles

Moorestown has gone a perfect 7-0 against Seneca recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Wednesday. The Quakers will be playing in front of their home fans against the Golden Eagles at 3:45 p.m. The match will give Moorestown their first taste of in-conference action this season.

Moorestown fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against Lenape on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell 13-8 to the Indians.

Lily Marta made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-5 with one home run and two RBI.

Meanwhile, Seneca unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They fell just short of Eastern by a score of 6-5 on Monday. The Golden Eagles haven't had much luck with the Vikings recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Chloe Carter spent all eight innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered five earned (and one unearned) runs on 13 hits and racked up nine Ks.

On the hitting side, Emily Buddendorf was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring two runs while going 2-for-5. The team also got some help courtesy of Alyssa Maybury, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.

Moorestown's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2-1. As for Seneca, their loss dropped their record down to 0-1.

Moorestown was able to grind out a solid win over Seneca when the teams last played back in May of 2024, winning 4-0. Will the Quakers repeat their success, or do the Golden Eagles have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
