Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Appomattox County walked away with it. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Chatham Cavaliers a 1-0 shutout on Thursday. Winning may never get old, but the Raiders sure are getting used to it with their 14th in a row.

Chloe Vaughan looked comfortable as she struck out nine batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 11 consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Bailey Hamilton, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Appomattox County's record is now 21-3. As for Chatham, with the defeat, they broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 12-11.

As of now, neither Appomattox County nor the Cavaliers have any future games scheduled.
