Football Recap: Monache Takes a Loss

If Monache was riding high fresh off their 35-7 takedown of Mt. Whitney last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Marauders were beaten by the Golden West Trailblazers 49-6 on Friday. The Marauders haven't had much luck with the Trailblazers recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Devin Rodriguez threw for 116 yards and one touchdown. Jasiah Rodriguez was his top target, picking up 88 receiving yards. On the ground, Cooper Baxter rushed for 73 yards.

It was another big night for Jayden Najera, who threw for 438 yards and seven TDs while picking up 12.5 yards per attempt, and also rushed for 44 yards for Golden West. What's more, Najera racked up 150.9 passer rating, the most he's had since back in November of 2024. Isaac Oceguera also helped out as he racked up 100 receiving yards.

Monache's defeat dropped their record down to 6-3. As for Golden West, their win bumped their record up to 7-2.

Coming up, Monache will challenge Porterville at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Marauders will need to watch out since the Panthers have now posted at least 31 points in their last eight matchups. As for Golden West, they will take on El Diamante at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Trailblazers will be up against the Miners' rather soft defense (which has allowed 53.67 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
