Soccer Game Preview: Caruthers vs. Justin Garza

The Caruthers Blue Raiders and the Justin Garza Guardians will round out the year against one another at at 9:50 a.m. on Monday. Caruthers has now lost seven straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since the seventh.

Caruthers' tournament run continued when they took on Mission Vista on Saturday. While the 3-3 score might suggest a draw, it was Mission Vista who was credited with the win. Mission Vista got it done in the shootout by posting four goals to Caruthers' two. While losing is never fun, the Blue Raiders can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 885th, while Mission Vista are ranked 331st).

Caruthers hit Mission Vista with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Jesus Quezada, Jonathan Chavez, and Aaron Gaxiola.

Last Saturday, Justin Garza didn't have quite enough to beat Santana and fell 2-1. The Guardians have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Caruthers' defeat dropped their record down to 2-8. As for Justin Garza, their loss dropped their record down to 3-7-1.
