Soccer Game Preview: Salinas vs. Watsonville + Official Tickets

The Salinas Cowboys are taking a road trip to face off against the Watsonville Wildcatz at 6:45 p.m. on Wednesday.

Salinas is likely headed into the contest with a focus on the second half, which is when things went downhill against Gonzales on Thursday. The Cowboys fell just short of the Spartans by a score of 4-3. While losing is never fun, Salinas can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 465th, while Gonzales are ranked 164th).

Meanwhile, Watsonville entered their tilt with Stevenson on Thursday with seven consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with eight. They came within a single goal of losing the streak, but they secured a 2-1 W against the Pirates. That's two games straight that Watsonville have won by just one goal.

Diego Guillen was the driving force of Watsonville's attack as he scored both of Watsonville's goals, bringing his season total up to 12 goals.

Watsonville's record now sits at 11-1-1. As for Salinas, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-6-4.
