Baseball Recap: Westminster Christian Wins Going Away Against Western

Westminster Christian not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since February 26th. They put the hurt on the Western Wildcats with a sharp 13-1 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Warriors.

Westminster Christian got a great performance from Aaron Hernandez as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out seven over five innings pitched. Hernandez also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because the Warriors are 4-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 7-8-1 otherwise.

At the plate, Lucas Argudin was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Bryan Borges also deserves some recognition as he launched his first home run of the season.

Westminster Christian lost a few balls and finished the game with four home runs. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post two or more home runs.

Westminster Christian's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-9-1. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Western, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-13.

Looking ahead, Westminster Christian will be playing in front of their home fans against TERRA Environmental at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Western, they will take on Taravella at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
