Basketball Recap: Luke Ott's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Suffolk Christian Academy over New Life Academy

It was a good run, but Suffolk Christian Academy unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Friday. They received a blow as they fell 58-42 to the New Life Academy Bobcats. The Knights were down 48-24 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

Suffolk Christian Academy lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Luke Ott, who posted 16 points and three steals. The match was Ott's 13th in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Nathan Jones, who earned 12 points.

New Life Academy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Dontrel Lee, who had 26 points. That makes it four consecutive games in which Lee has scored at least a third of New Life Academy's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Timothy Bradshaw, who put up 17 points.

Suffolk Christian Academy now has a losing record at 5-6. As for New Life Academy, they pushed their record up to 13-4 with the victory, which was their 15th straight at home dating back to last season.

Suffolk Christian Academy will welcome Yeshivas Aish Kodesh Talmudical Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. As for New Life Academy, they will host Bethel Assembly Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. New Life Academy knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past three games -- so hopefully Bethel Assembly Christian Academy likes a good challenge.
