Baseball Recap: Roosevelt Comes Up Short

Roosevelt had lost three straight on the road, but on Friday they dropped down to 2-5 to make it four. They came up short against the School Without Walls Penguins, falling 15-0. The contest marked the first time this year in which the Roughriders were not able to get on the board.

As for School Without Walls, their record now sits at 12-6. The result was nothing new for the Penguins, who have now won 11 matchups by seven runs or more so far this season.

For School Without Walls' part, Tywon King and Charles Daggett did most of the damage at the plate: King went a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple, while Daggett went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. Those two RBI gave Daggett a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Nolan Smith, who went 1-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI.

Coming up, Roosevelt will face off against Coolidge at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for School Without Walls, they will square off against Sidwell Friends at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
