Volleyball Recap: Freedom Comes Up Short

Freedom was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 14th straight defeat dating back to last season. They lost 3-0 to the East Burke Cavaliers. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Patriots of the 2-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in August of 2024.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-15, 25-12, 25-20.

Kaitlyn Hagmann paced Freedom's offense, picking up 11 kills. Hagmann were helped by Kennedy Denton and Camryn Warlick, who contributed four assists each. Denton also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Madelyn Lemaster, racking up two apiece.

Freedom's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for East Burke, the win got them back to even at 1-1.

Freedom wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 3-1 loss against Draughn on the 18th. As for East Burke, they have also already played their next matchup, a 3-0 defeat against St. Stephens on the 18th.
