Greenfield-Central won the last time they faced Southport, and Madison Sonsini did her part to make sure it happened again. Everything went the Greenfield-Central Cougars' way against the Southport Cardinals on Thursday as the Greenfield-Central Cougars made off with a 65-43 win thanks in part to Sonsini, who dropped a double-double with 20 points and ten boards. Greenfield-Central is 12-1 when Sonsini posts eight or more rebounds, but 4-6 otherwise.

When it comes to explaining why Southport lost, don't look at Kassie Mcmasters. Despite the final result, she posted 16 points along with five assists and three steals. Mcmasters has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Ryleigh Hamilton, who put up six points and six boards.

Greenfield-Central's victory bumped their record up to 16-7. As for Southport, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 12-9.

Greenfield-Central wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 54-50 defeat against Richmond on the 4th. As for Southport, they have also already played their next matchup, a 59-22 loss against Franklin Central on the 7th.
