Volleyball Game Preview: Belmont Cardinals vs. East Union Urchins

The Belmont Cardinals will venture away from home to challenge the East Union Urchins at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams are strolling into their matches after big wins in their previous games.

Having struggled with four defeats in a row, Belmont turned things around against North Pontotoc on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Vikings. That three set margin sets a new team best for the Cardinals this season.

Belmont's got stronger as the match went on, holding North Pontotoc to fewer and fewer points set over set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-20, 25-19, 25-14.

East Union not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since October 5, 2024 (when they won 3-0). Everything went their way against West Union as they made off with a 3-0 victory. The win continues a trend for the Urchins in their matchups with the Eagles: they've now won six in a row.

East Union's victory bumped their record up to 6-1. As for Belmont, their win bumped their record up to 3-4.

Belmont came up short against East Union in their previous meeting on Saturday, falling 2-0. Can the Cardinals avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
