Preview: Rising Sun Tigers vs. Aberdeen Eagles
The Rising Sun Tigers will play host again and welcome the Aberdeen Eagles, where tip off is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Rising Sun has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 246 points over their last four contests.
Last Thursday, Rising Sun earned a 57-46 victory over Patterson Mill. Given Rising Sun's advantage in MaxPreps' Maryland basketball rankings (they are ranked 20th, while Patterson Mill is ranked 106th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Rising Sun got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Allison Stoudt out in front who scored 11 points along with seven steals. Stoudt is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Jordan Lynch was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 15 points and 15 rebounds.
Meanwhile, Aberdeen came up short against Harford Tech on Monday and fell 44-36. Aberdeen has not had much luck with Harford Tech recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
Rising Sun's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 4-0. As for Aberdeen, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-3.
Rising Sun didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Aberdeen when the teams last played back in January, but they still walked away with a 41-37 victory. Will Rising Sun repeat their success, or does Aberdeen have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
