Basketball Recap: Mentor Christian Takes a Loss

Mentor Christian was the 57-55 winner over Medina Christian Academy when they last played one another back in February of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. Mentor Christian fell to the Medina Christian Academy Knights 43-38. While Mentor Christian didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating Medina Christian Academy 10-4 in the first quarter.

Medina Christian Academy got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Ashley Conwill out in front who posted 18 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. Conwill's evening made it three games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Anna Gibson, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and ten boards.

Mentor Christian now has a losing record at 2-3. As for Medina Christian Academy, their victory ended a five-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 5-6.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mentor Christian won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Lake Ridge Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Medina Christian Academy, they also won't have to wait long for more action: they'll square off against Lake Center Christian at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Medina Christian Academy is facing Lake Center Christian at the right time seeing as Lake Center Christian is stuck on a nine-game losing streak.
