Pendleton County extended their winning streak to 19 on Saturday, bumping their season record up to 19-1 in the process. Everything went their way against the Keyser Golden Tornado as they made off with a 12-4 victory. The result was nothing new for the Wildcat, who have now won 15 contests by six runs or more so far this season.
Avery Townsend was incredible, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. Julia Mongold was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two RBI and one run.
As for Keyser, their loss ended an eight-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat they have suffered since March 25th.
On Keyser's side, Bibs Felton made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and got on base in all three of her plate appearances with two runs.
Pendleton County didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 10-6 win against East Hardy on the 14th. As for Keyser, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 17-0 victory against Berkeley Springs on the 16th.
