Recap: Bloomburg Wildcats vs. Overton Mustangs

The Bloomburg Wildcats lost against the Overton Mustangs back in December of 2020, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. Bloomburg was dealt a 61-10 defeat at the hands of Overton. Bloomburg was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 41-6.

Leading Overton to victory were Christian Hall and Bryce Still. Hall scored 14 points along with 8 rebounds, while Still scored 14 points along with 5 rebounds and 3 steals. Still is absolutely dominating the steal category: he's posted at least two every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Joey Zalman, who scored 7 points.

Bloomburg bumped their record down to 1-4 with that defeat, which was their third straight on the road. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 12.7 points per game. As for Overton, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 7-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Bloomburg will take on Leverett's Chapel at 10:00 a.m. on Friday. Overton won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Christian Heritage at 4:00 p.m. on December 8th. Christian Heritage will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings (they are ranked 1096th, while Overton is ranked 290th).
