Soccer Recap: Fultondale Takes a Loss

Fultondale lost against Westminster School at Oak Mountain back in March of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Fultondale Wildcats came up short against the Westminster School at Oak Mountain Knights, falling 5-0. While losing is never fun, the Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alabama soccer rankings (they are ranked 115th, while the Knights are ranked 32nd).

Fultondale dropped their record down to 4-9-4 with the defeat, which was their third straight at home. As for Westminster School at Oak Mountain, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-4-1 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. A feisty cat fight will be fought as Fultondale take on Eufaula at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. Fultondale has given up an average of 2.9 goals per game this season, so hopefully the team got some defensive drills in this week. Westminster School at Oak Mountain will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Oak Mountain at 7:00 p.m. on April 1st.
