Softball Recap: San Juan Spartans vs. Golden Sierra Grizzlies
San Juan had lost five straight at home, but on Wednesday they dropped their record down to 1-11 to make it six. They came up short against the Golden Sierra Grizzlies, falling 28-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Grizzlies this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 24-6 back in March.
As for Golden Sierra, they now have a winning record of 7-6. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six games by eight runs or more this season.
For Golden Sierra's part, the team relied heavily on Tessa Hill, who fired off three home runs, ten RBI, and four runs while getting on base in all five of her plate appearances. Those ten RBI gave Hill a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Lucy Miller, who got on base in all five of her plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI.
We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. San Juan is set to challenge their familiar foe Highlands at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Golden Sierra will take on rival Vacaville Christian at 4:00 a.m. on Tuesday.
