Pace proved they can win big last Friday (they won by 26) and on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They skirted past the Madison County Cowboys 20-18. Those 20 points were actually the fewest the Patriots have put up all season, but given the result they're probably not too concerned.

The critical scores for Pace came from Brooks Washington, Aaron Muldowney, and Tagg Strickenburger.

Pace was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 230 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 230 rushing yards every time they've taken the field this season.

Loss or not, Madison County got some senior leadership from Na'Quez Christian and Lj Crumity. Christian gained 141 total yards and two touchdowns, while Crumity threw for 99 yards and two TDs. Crumity didn't just play on offense: he also made eight total tackles and defended two passes.

Pace's win bumped their record up to 5-1. As for Madison County, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-4.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Pace will square off against Tate at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Patriots 14.3, the Aggies 9.3) so any points scored will be well earned. As for Madison County, they will take on Raines at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. The Cowboys will need to watch out since the Vikings have now posted at least 31 points every time they've taken the field this season.
