Cedar Vale/Dexter extended their winning streak to three on Thursday, bumping their season record up to 19-1 in the process. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the South Sumner [Caldwell/South Haven] Outlaws a 17-0 shutout. The Spartans might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 15 contests by six runs or more this season.

Zoe Davidson made a big impact no matter where she played. She tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base.

In other batting news, Cedar Vale/Dexter got a massive performance out of Gracie Webb, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Kylee Bragg, who went 1-for-2 with three runs and three RBI.

As for South Sumner [Caldwell/South Haven], they moved to 9-2 with that defeat, which also ended their nine-game winning streak. The game marked the first time this year in which they were not able to get on the board.

On South Sumner [Caldwell/South Haven]'s side, they saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ava Newell, who went 1-for-2 with one triple.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Cedar Vale/Dexter beat the Outlaws by a score of 12-1 later that day.
