Softball Game Preview: Mt. Hope Huskies vs. Toll Gate Titans

The Mt. Hope Huskies will take on the Toll Gate Titans at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Mt. Hope is looking for their season's first win.

Wednesday just wasn't the day for Mt. Hope's offense. They lost 18-0 to Burrillville on Wednesday. The matchup marked the first time this year in which the Huskies were not able to get on the board.

Meanwhile, Toll Gate faced Westerly in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. The Titans came up short against the Bulldogs, falling 10-0. The defeat continues a trend for the Titans in their meetings with the Bulldogs: they've now lost five in a row.

Mt. Hope's loss dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Toll Gate, they now have a losing record of 3-4.

Mt. Hope couldn't quite finish off Toll Gate when the teams last played back in April of 2024 and fell 3-1. Can the Huskies avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
