Baseball Recap: Manatee Extends Winning Streak to Three

Manatee lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Out-of-Door Academy, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Tuesday's matchup. The Hurricanes' pitchers stepped up to hand the Thunder an 8-0 shutout on Tuesday. The victory was nothing new for the Hurricanes as they're now sitting on three straight.

Malachi Cleto looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched.

At the plate, Cooper Richardson was excellent, going 1-for-3 with three RBI and one triple. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. Ashton Hovda was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.

Manatee always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .556. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Out-of-Door Academy only posted an OBP of .185.

Manatee now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Out-of-Door Academy, they now have a losing record of 2-3.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Manatee will head out to square off against Effingham County at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Out-of-Door Academy, they will challenge Inspiration Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
