Basketball Recap: Branford Buccaneers vs. Fort White Indians
Branford was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were five points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 42-37 heartbreaker at the hands of the Fort White Indians. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Buccaneers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 57-53 back in December of 2024.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Fort White to victory, but perhaps none more so than Tafari Moe, who went 7 of 16 en route to 17 points and five boards. Moe's evening made it seven games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Jayden Jackspn was another key player, putting up 12 points and three steals.
Branford's defeat dropped their record down to 8-10. As for Fort White, they pushed their record up to 8-9 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home.
Branford wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 63-49 loss against Bishop Snyder on the 25th. As for Fort White, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Lafayette at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Lafayette will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Fort White surely won't give up without a fight.
