Softball Recap: Mountain View Prep's Win on Saturday Extends Winning Streak to Four

While Mountain View Prep's win against Oceanside Collegiate Academy wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Stars won by a run and slipped past the Landsharks 5-4. Winning may never get old, but the Stars sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row.

Braley Richardson was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out six over five innings pitched. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.

Richardson wasn't the only one making solid contact as six players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Ashton Chapman, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two RBI. Those RBI marked the first that Chapman brought in this season.

Mountain View Prep was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .391. The last time their batting average was this high was was before the start of last season.

Mountain View Prep's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-8. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games. As for Oceanside Collegiate Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-8-1.

Mountain View Prep has already played their next matchup, a 7-5 defeat against Powdersville on the 14th. As for Oceanside Collegiate Academy, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 10-0 victory against Battery Creek on the 8th.
