Preview: Shiloh Hills Christian Challengers vs. Lafayette Christian Cougars
Having just played yesterday, the Shiloh Hills Christian Challengers will get right back to it and host the Lafayette Christian Cougars at 7:00 p.m. on January 26th. Shiloh Hills Christian is coming into the match on a six-game losing streak.
On Thursday, Shiloh Hills Christian ended up a good deal behind Dominion Christian and lost 59-41. Shiloh Hills Christian was down 43-23 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.
Meanwhile, Lafayette Christian can now show off eight landslide victories after their most recent game on Thursday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Flint River Academy 76-39 on the road. With Lafayette Christian ahead 39-15 at the half, the match was all but over already.
Lafayette Christian had a senior duo take command as Joshua Zapata scored 22 points along with seven rebounds and five steals and Bruno Tellez dropped a double-double on 24 points and 11 rebounds. Tellez is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last 12 games he's played. Another player making a difference was Vakiel Hammett, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 14 rebounds.
Shiloh Hills Christian has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost eight of their last nine matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-9 record this season. As for Lafayette Christian, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season.
