Volleyball Recap: Tom Bean Takes a Loss

Tom Bean was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their tenth straight defeat. They fell 3-1 to the Trenton Tigers. The Tomcats were not able to make up for their loss to the Tigers from their previous meeting back in October of 2024.

Tom Bean started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The final score came out to 18-25, 25-12, 25-20, 25-17.

Jaycee Allen paced Tom Bean's offense, picking up 13 kills. Allen got some help from Blake Edwards and her 13 assists. Allen also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Paislee Freeman, each putting up two.

Tom Bean's defeat dropped their record down to 2-26. As for Trenton, their victory bumped their record up to 7-13.

Tom Bean and Trenton could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings. The Tomcats (ranked 1326th) will meet Collinsville (ranked 527th) at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Trenton will challenge Tioga at 4:30 p.m. on Friday with a big rank disadvantage (1054 vs. 447).
