Baseball Recap: Sleepy Eye Comes Up Short

Sleepy Eye was the 11-1 winner over Minnesota Valley Lutheran when they last played one another back in May of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Indians took a 5-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Chargers on Friday.

Cole Eckstein stepped up to lead a balanced group of hitters: he went 3-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. Another player making a difference was Carson Uecker, who got on base in two of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.

Sleepy Eye's defeat dropped their record down to 8-4. As for Minnesota Valley Lutheran, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 7-2.

Sleepy Eye has already played their next game (against Loyola), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Minnesota Valley Lutheran, they are taking a road trip to square off against Sibley East at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
