Whiting won the last time they faced Westville and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Oilers walked away with a 3-1 win over the Blackhawks. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Oilers.

The victory didn't come easy: Westville scored at least 19 points in every set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 18-25, 25-21, 25-20.

Liliana Lozano paced Whiting's offense, picking up 14 kills. Lozano got some help from Andrea Cabrales and her 19 assists. Sophia Perez controlled things from the service line, finishing with six aces.

When it comes to explaining why Westville lost, don't look at Lydia Green. Despite the final result, she had 13 digs and two assists. Emma Ross was another key player, getting eight digs and two aces.

Whiting's win bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Westville, the loss snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 4-2 record.

Whiting has already played their next contest, a 3-0 victory against River Forest on the 21st. As for Westville, they will be playing in front of their home fans against East Chicago Central at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.
