Football Recap: Everett Alvarez Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Everett Alvarez dropped to 6-3 on Saturday, ending the team's three-game streak of wins on the road. They were beaten by the Stevenson Pirates 42-3. The contest marked the Eagles' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Alejandro Esquivel-Manzo threw for 129 yards on eight of 14 attempts. Jaylen Ward was his top target, picking up 78 receiving yards. On the ground, Isaac Rivera rushed for 57 yards.

As for Stevenson, the win keeps them at an undefeated 9-0. The victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 9.7 points on average this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Stevenson to victory, but perhaps none more so than Antonio Borgomini, who rushed for 65 yards and three TDs, and also picked up 31 receiving yards and one touchdown. That's the most rushing touchdowns Borgomini has posted since back in October of 2024. Fin Mink was another key passer, throwing for 350 yards and three touchdowns while completing 78.3% of his passes.

Meanwhile, Stevenson will challenge rival King City at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Pirates 9.7, the Mustangs 7.6) so any points scored will be well earned.
